Residents interested in running for Middletown Town Council have until 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 9, to file an application.

 To be eligible, the candidate must be at least 21 years old, never convicted of a felony, and a resident in town limits for one year.

Applications for candidacy can be picked up at Middletown Town Hall, 19 W. Green St., Middletown, between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, or they can be found online at middletownde.org under “Election Information.”

 Three council seats, each lasting two years, are up for election this year.

 The election is from noon to 8 p.m. on March 5 in council chambers at Town Hall.

Absentee ballots for voting will be available. Absentee ballot affidavits can be picked up at Town Hall during office hours or on the town’s website (both listed above).

Absentee ballots will be mailed out starting Feb. 12. They must be returned by the close of the election to be counted.
