Delaware State Police are looking for two suspects in the crime that happened Tuesday night in Salem Village Square.
Delaware State Police detectives are investigating the armed robbery of a Dollar General store that took place last night, Tuesday, April 10.
The incident happened at about 9:49 p.m., at the Dollar General, 20 Salem Village Square, Newark.
Two masked suspects showing handguns entered the business just before to the scheduled closing time of 10 p.m. The suspects confronted a female employee on the sales floor, directed her to the sales counter, and ordered her to open the cash register.
The employee complied with the demand and opened the register, and then one of the suspects removed an undisclosed amount of cash. After obtaining the money, both suspects fled in an unknown direction.
The first suspect was described as a black male, 5-feet-5-inches to 5-feet-9-inches tall, 120 to 140 pounds, wearing all dark clothing, including a covering over his face, and armed with an unknown make and model handgun.
The second suspect was described as a black male 5-feet-4-inches to 5-feet-5-inches tall, 120 to140 pounds, also wearing all dark clothing and a covering over his face.
