Amelia Meyer, a fifth-grader at the Southern Delaware School of the Arts in Selbyville, won the Delaware Forest Service’s 2018 Arbor Day School Poster Contest.

Meyer’s poster beat entries from more than 3,200 students in 43 classes from around the First State.

“Trees Are Terrific…and Perfect for Pollinators!” was this year’s theme, chosen to highlight the important role of trees in the health of pollinators such as bees and butterflies. The annual contest is open to kindergarten through fifth-grade students in Delaware public, private, charter and home schools.
