Austin Lockett, of Townsend, was recognized during the University of Mount Union's Senior Recognition and Honors Convocation held April 24.

Lockett was honored with the Black Student Union Outstanding Senior Award. This prize is awarded annually to the senior member of the Black Student Union who demonstrates leadership, organization and dedication to diversity initiatives, on and off campus.

Each year, the convocation honors graduating seniors and underclass students who have excelled academically, displayed leadership skills and shown dedication to the university and community through community service initiatives.
