A total of 273 students from St. Georges Technical High School graduated from the school during the school’s ninth commencement exercise held on Friday, June 1, at the Bob Carpenter Center at the University of Delaware in Newark.

There were several speakers during the Class of 2018 graduation.

Greetings speeches were given by Yvette Santiago, president of the New Castle County Vo-Tech School District Board of Education and Victoria C. Gehrt superintendent.

Shanta Reynolds, the school’s principal, gave the introduction and the commencement speech followed by Danae Baxter, one of the two valedictorians of the class.

The other valedictorian, Amanda Merritt, made remarks at the end of the ceremony.

Ke’Asia Skinner, salutatorian, gave the presentation of the class.

“I’m proud of our students for doing such a great job for the last four years and, on behalf of the staff, we wish them the very best,” Reynolds said.
