Some fun First State events to dive into this weekend.
1. Even before hearing this storyteller’s hilarious tales, you might laugh just seeing his first name.
Bil Lepp is an award-winning storyteller, author and recording artist. He became good at spinning tales and exaggerating circumstances at an early age. Whether it’s a plunger, a hunting trip or a funeral, Lepp can find the humor in any situation.
He’s a champion and veteran of the West Virginia Liars’ contest. He received a Parent’s Choice Approved award and a NAPPA Honors award. Also, he published his first novel, “Halfdollar,” in 2008. In 2009, he released a live DVD.

2. Even after Halloween, folks will have an excuse to dress in costume at The 6th Underground Comic Con.
The family friendly con will feature artists, cosplayers, food, panels and a few surprises.

3. The Big House Band features vocalists who’ve appeared on the NBC show “The Voice.”
The party-rock/pop band averages over 200 dates per year, along with mighty singers Jimi Milligan and DaNica Shirey.
The group has a reputation for getting bars, clubs, casinos and private parties jumping in the Philadelphia area for nearly two decades.
Big House covers a list of tunes from soul, funk, Motown, rock, pop and current hits.
