The New Castle County Department of Land Use, Delaware Department of Transportation and Wilmington Area Planning Council are developing a master plan for Southern New Castle County between the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal and Kent County line and are seeking public input.
A public visioning workshop will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31 at the Odessa Fire Hall, 304 Main St. A presentation will be given at 6 p.m. with group discussions at 6:30 p.m. During the workshop, New Castle County, DelDOT and WILMAPCO will be on hand to listen to feedback on what Southern New Castle County should look like in the future.
The master plan will present a vision for Southern New Castle County’s future and identify steps to move toward that vision by developing long-term goals and recommending implementation strategies. The master plan will inform development decisions for the next twenty years, and make recommendations for projects and policies for transportation and land use that will help improve quality of life, safety and economic and environmental sustainability in Southern New Castle County.
