Families and wellness workshops include:

— Understanding Credit and Managing Debt: 6:30 to 8 p.m. March 4, Bear Library, 101 Governor’s Place. This workshop will provide participants with tools to reduce debt. The class will discuss weaning off credit, credit reports and the importance of credit history. Beneficial to those who need a basic understanding of where to begin in gaining control of debt and wise use of credit. Free. Must register: 838-3300.

— Take Control of Your Finances: 6:30 to 8 p.m. March 11, Bear Library. Attendees will learn money management techniques to help stay on top of finances and plan for the future. Free. Must register: 838-3300.

— Gluten: The Basics: 11 a.m. to noon March 16, Bear Library. An interactive program for anyone interested in learning more about gluten and why some, not all, need to avoid gluten. Free. Must register: 838-3300.

— Basics of Saving and Investing: 6:30 to 8 p.m. March 18, Bear Library. Attendees will learn basic saving and investing techniques to get started identifying and preparing to meet lifestyle and retirement goals. Free. Must register: 838-3300.

Gardening workshops include:

— Beginning Vegetable Gardening: 6:30 to 8 p.m. March 4 and 6, NCC Extension Office, 461 Wyoming Road, Newark. A two-part workshop. Attendees will learn about soil, site selection, tools and techniques and the specific vegetables. Begin creating a specific plan for a home garden. The cost, $30, covers both sessions. — March to the Garden: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 16, NCC Extension Office. Join the Master Gardeners in this day of learning designed for novice and experienced gardeners alike. Features various topics, giveaways, food and an opportunity to network with other gardeners. The focus is on gardening essentials to help with everything from seed starting to garden plantings.
