After a year in the shop, statue returns.

Port Penn’s waterman is back.

The Waterman, by chain saw carver, Jacquin Smolens, was commissioned in 2007 by the Port Penn Historical Society. He stands on the grounds of the Port Penn Interpretive Center at the corner of Route 9 and Port Penn Road.

In March 2019, the statue was moved to the workshop of woodworker John Ringer for restoration. John is a long-time board member of the Port Penn Area Historical Society.

The crew at Cutting Edge of Delaware helped place the statue back on the grounds February 5.
