Some fun events to dive into in Delaware this weekend, from Feb. 21-23.
1. Beauty salons receive so many hilarious stories and drama that one has become the setting for the dramedy “Steel Magnolias.”
The show, presented by Kent County Theatre Guild, takes place in a Louisiana hair salon and features a group of gossipy southern women. While there’s humor in the show, there’s also touching moments, too.

2. Kathie Martin & The Hot Rods are a live jukebox for oldies and rock ‘n’ roll.
Martin is a multi-instrumentalist trained in the disciplines of guitar, piano, flute and saxophone.
She began her professional music career as a member of the Fabulous Hubcaps Show Band from 1980 to 1993. After that, she formed her own band with her late husband, Willie Farrell.

3. Grammy Award-winning children’s performer Dan Zanes and his jazz-vocalist wife, Claudia Eliaza, have a good time in store for Wilmington.
Eliaza, a Haitian-American music therapist, and Zanes and have been making music together since they met in 2016.
Something fresh the duo bring to their performances are they work with presenters to try and make all of their concerts sensory friendly. For instance, their Wilmington show will include ALS interpreters.
