The Appoquinimink Jaguars boys basketball squad improved to 9-4 on the season after knocking off Salesianum on Tuesday night, 50-46 in overtime.
Appo and Salesianum played to a 21-21 tie through the first half before Sallies eventually took a one-basket lead heading into the fourth quarter. In the final stanza, the Jags would outscore Salesianum 12-10 to force overtime. Appo went on to gain a four-point lead in the OT, holding on for the victory.
Myles Cale led the way for the Jags against Sallies, scoring a game-high 21 points in the victory.
Keith DeLoatch scored 10 for Appo, while Kristian Alexander contributed nine points and Ky’ree Perkins finished with six points rounding out the Jags’ offensive effort.
Appoquinimink is back on the hardwood Saturday afternoon at Middletown (5-7, 2-4) starting at 1:30 p.m.
