On Saturday, playing through some windy and rainy conditions, the Howard Wildcats topped St. Georges Tech, 8-0, in a defensive battle.
Both offenses struggled to get anything going throughout the game as both defenses were playing fast and aggressive.
The only score of the game came late in the first quarter, when Howard’s Isaiah Kelsey intercepted a pass and returned it 27-yards for a touchdown. Howard would capitalize further with a two-point conversion, putting them up 8-0.
The first half defensive touchdown is all the Wildcats would need as they’d keep the Hawks off the scoreboard in the second half to earn their first victory of the season.
St. Georges Tech will look to turn things around next week when they host Caesar Rodney; kick-off is scheduled for Saturday at noon.
