The Hawks, seeded 24th, knocked off 9th-seeded Caesar Rodney on the Riders' home court in the first round Thursday.

The St. Georges Tech volleyball team upset Caesar Rodney in the first round of the state volleyball tournament Thursday night to advance to the second round.

The 24th-seeded Hawks won 3-1 over 9th-seeded CR by set scores of 25-19, 22-25, 25-19 and 25-12 on the Riders' home court.

St. Georges Tech, the Blue Hen Conference champion, improved to 12-5 and has now won 11 matches in a row.
