Due to unplayable fields at Red Lion Christian Academy, the state baseball tournament first round game between St. Georges Tech and Red Lion was postponed Thursday.

The game will be played Friday, May 24 at 4 p.m.

PREVIEW OF THE MATCHUP

The Hawks are 10-8 and are seeded 18th in the 24-team tournament.

Red Lion is 12-6 and seeded 15th.

The teams didn't face each other in the regular season.

St. Georges Tech posted wins this season over Mt. Pleasant 14-4, Sussex Tech 5-3, Polytech 10-1, Tower Hill 15-5, MOT Charter 25-0, Hodgson 7-3, Delcastle 10-0, St. Elizabeth 9-1, Concord 5-4 and Newark 9-1.

SECOND ROUND SATURDAY

If the Hawks beat Red Lion, they'll advance to the second round Saturday, May 25 and play at second-seeded Salesianum at 3 p.m.

Salesianum is 16-2 and received a first-round bye.
